We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who has customer service skills, attention to detail, takes pride in their work, and is a good communicator who will:
• Negotiate costs and other terms effectively, identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities for existing products
• Monitor commodity market trends, ensure continuity of supply and source new parts as required
• Agree/maintain standards and KPI’s with supplier in line with stakeholders, with agreed monitors and escalation routes, take the lead in managing negotiations for direct costs; and maintain and improve the introduction of new products and localisation of new component with suppliers meeting the quality, cost and delivery targets
To be successful in the role of Strategic Buyer, you will need to demonstrate a positive, diverse and inclusive attitude to both internal and external customers and colleagues.
Ideally you should be degree educated or Purchasing (CIPS) qualified or A level equivalents
